The NUS is the most powerful confederation of student unions in the UK. Celebrating its 100th anniversary, the NUS represents 95% of students unions covering over 7 million students, advocating on their behalf to ensure that students are never left behind.
The NUS has been the force behind policies such as:
- 16-25 Railcard
- the existence of maintenance loans and postgraduate loans
- the student council tax exemption
- the age of adulthood being lowered from 21 to 18.
The NUS is facing antisemitism allegations, and the NUS has subjected themselves to an external investigation to stamp it out. The investigation is still ongoing, but the NUS has shown that they are willing and able to act constructively towards a better future for the organisation. We believe that leaving the NUS is a short-sighted decision.
Today they are working hard to highlight the issues of racism and sexual violence on campus, and advocating on behalf of students during the cost of living crisis. We cannot afford to lose that advocacy.
There is a bright future for the NUS. CCSU and the NUS are better together.
Have your say. Vote ‘NO’ to stay with the NUS.
