About the Sports & Society Elections

What are Sports and Society Elections?

These elections are the process by which a group of students are fairly appointed as leaders of their sports club or society. The successful candidates will run the club/society the following academic year.

Why should I run?

As a democratic organisation, it’s crucial that all of our leaders are elected into position. This includes our sports and society committee members. For your club/society to exist it will need a committee that's responsible for running it. We run the elections through our website as that way it's accessible to everyone and we can ensure only paid members of a society are able to run/vote.

Can I run?

Those who would like to run for a committee position must be a paid member of the given sport/society and a student in the next academic year. Eligible students will be able to nominate themselves. You can only run for one 'core position' within each club/society you are a member (President / Vice-President / Treasurer / Wellbeing).

Please note that you cannot nominate someone else. All individuals hoping to be considered for a position must actively run themselves.

Upon submitting your nomination online you will be able to upload your photo and a manifesto if desired.

Please note that you need to be logged in to be able to see the roles you are able to stand for.

Can I vote?

Only paid members of a club/society can vote for that club/society's future committee. Eligible students will be able to vote on the candidate(s) that have put themselves forward during the voting window.

Please note that you need to be logged in to be able to see the roles you are able to vote for.

Having issues?

If you are a paid member of a club/society and the nominations for that club/society are not visible, please contact comms@ccsu.co.uk
