If you have any questions about the elections then hopefully you can find the answers here. If not then please get in touch.
How does the elections platform work?
We use university data to ensure that only our current students are able to take part in our elections. That means you have to login to take part. Your profile will also have information about which clubs or societies you belong to as well as the course you are studying.
Logging in will show you which elections/roles are open to you. In some instances the data isn't 100% correct so please contact comms@ccsu.co.uk (with information about the election along with your username e.g. ab123) and we can usually fix this very quickly.
How do I nominate myself?
When elections are open you can simply log in to the elections pages and choose which positions to nominate yourself for. Make sure you upload a manifesto and photo to let students know what you stand for and why they should vote for you.
Some elections have eligibility criteria so you can only stand for them if you are on a certain course or a certain society for example. f you believe you should be able to stand then please contact comms@ccsu.co.uk (with information about the election along with your username e.g. ab123) and we can usually fix this very quickly.
Did my nomination go through successfully?
Once you submitted your nomination you can check if it was successful by navigating back to the relevant position's nomination page. This is where you can check over your manifesto and photo.
Who/what is R.O.N?
RON stands for Re-Open Nominations. If Re-Open Nominations wins an election, it means no candidate wins and the role will be vacant for an undefined period of time, until the election can be re-run. Re-Open Nominations is a candidate in all elections so that if a voter believes there is no other candidate running they can say so.
I've missed the deadline
There are deadlines for submitting nominations and for casting votes and unfortunately these are binding to ensure a fair and honest election. If you are having trouble then please contact us with plenty of time to spare so that we can help you out.
