The Campaigns Issue

Welcome to the monthly newsletter from Christ Church Students' Union. Each month we choose a topic relevant to our students so let us know if there's anything you would like us to talk about.

Student Housing Image

We want to hear about your experiences and issues with student housing...

The Safe as Houses campaign is here to help you as a student to understand your rights and to tackle any issues that have occurred in previous years. We know that housing is a stressful topic, but if we work together we can make it easier!

Movember

This November we'll be supporting Movember and are showing our support for men’s health by sporting moustches.

We want everyone to get involved to raise funds and spark conversations for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems so get involved.

Money Saving Tips

Money Saving Tips

Money issues? Here are some quick tips to help out

  1. Draw out an income/ expense plan It's too easy to splash the cash so to help you budget, use the free interactive Student Calculator tool from education charity Brightside.
  2. Grab a student discount card An NUS Extra card costs £12, but it'll get you discounts online and in store with over 160 retailers for a year.
  3. Plan meals Plan out your meals on a weekly basis and try to bulk cook if possible. This prevents you from getting in a habit of eating out all the time and ensures you always have something to eat in the freezer.
  4. Sell what you don’t need Textbooks are valuable, if you are not using last year’s, make the most of them and sell them to the new intake of students. Everyone's a winner!

We're not just about campaigns...

Machu Pichu Trek

Every penny that the Students' Union generates goes directly back into the organisation so your support helps improve campaigns, events, support and advice, sports, societies, and everything else we do.

Come along and support our events at The Lounge! For starters why not come along to our Comedy Night on Tuesday 11th November?
