Our volunteers are amazing!

Tuesday 5th December is International Volunteers Day and here at Christ Church Students’ Union, we’re celebrating the inspiring work done by our hundreds of volunteers, student committee members running a Club or Society, Student Reps, along with School and Faculty Reps, Union Council, and especially CCSU Raise & Give (RaG) student volunteers.

RaG is the official fundraising body of Christ Church Students’ Union supporting charities locally and nationally as well as internationally. Each year the student-led society, organise four BIG Challenges abroad, raising money for global charities, volunteering in communities in need, all whilst having a unique overseas experience in an amazing environment.

Any Christ Church student can get involved! You can choose from building playgrounds in Uganda, taking care of elephants in Thailand, teaching in India or Nepal to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Charlotte Williams, the elected President of RaG and Union Council Fundraising Officer says

“Already over 40 students have signed up to volunteer this year, with our fundraising target of £70,000, we are well on our way to achieving this. And there are still spaces for anyone at Christ Church who wants to challenge themselves and join us.”

Union on Tour in December will be a RaG takeover, with fun challenges to try, and a chance to find out more about this year’s four BIG RaG Challenges.

And in January, Christ Church Students’ Union will be launching our new Volunteering hour logging website, so everyone gets the recognition they deserve. Watch this space for more info. Coming soon!
