The Universities of Greenwich and Kent are close to announcing the appointment of a new contractor to complete the Student Hub, a multi-million pound construction project on the Medway campus funded by the University of Kent and University of Greenwich and to be managed by the Greenwich and Kent Unions. The Student Hub will be for all students from each of the three Universities to use when open, bringing students together to create a social and buzzing environment. We also hope to see staff there too!
It is hoped that work will recommence shortly after being suspended in July following confirmation that the previous contractor, Cardy, had entered administration.
Following further site inspections, it is now expected that the building will not be open for business until the New Year. However, despite this, there are a huge number of events being organised by the Greenwich and Kent Unions as well as our own Canterbury Christ Church University Union for all the Medway students to enjoy this term. Coopers Bar will remain open to life to offer an exciting programme of new and more familiar events throughout the term.
