Hi I'm Beth, the President (Campaigns and Societies).
What is your role at CCSU:
My role is to co-ordinate and run campaigns that benefit our student body, and to empower the student voice. I also oversee all of our societies at CCSU, offering them support and guidance. I am also the lead sabbatical officer for Medway, and work with the other officers to ensure our students there feel supported.
What I studied:
BA in Archaeology and MSc in Tourism and Events Management
How was I involved with the CCSU before becoming a sabbatical?
I was previously involved in Musical Theatre and Show Choir societies. I held the position of Vice President and President of Show Choir, and also sat on the Union Societies Executive Committee. During my undergrad, I also was a course representative.
What am I looking to achieve this year?
This year I want to co-ordinate inclusive campaigns to support the wellbeing of our students.I want to empower students with the tools they need to implement their projects, campaigns, and events. I also want to support our student groups to come back bigger and stronger this year, and create an inclusive and safe environment for all.
One tip for making the most of uni
It is so incredibly important to have a good work-life balance whilst completing your degree. I would recommend joining a student group whilst in your time at university. This will make you feel part of the CCCU community, and is a great way to meet new people! Also remember to make the most of your student discount!
