Jerome Smith - Men's Football 

I started playing football at the age of 5 and haven't stopped since! I played at the same club at home until the age of 20, gaining promotion with them. Then was asked to join semi-professional team Hastings united where I currently play at now. The travelling for games and training is a real test on my dedication to football but nevertheless I still do it because of the enjoyment.

This dedication also shows through to my work for CCCU with my captaincy last year and now presidency this year. Along with the footballing committee we have been able to make real positive changes to the way we conduct ourselves on and off the pitch and really hope that this can only progress the club further. I've utilised my coaching badges and knowledge of how a football club should be run through experience to ensure that everyone in the club is happy and also learning, which is key to making improvements. Happiness is key for us and our committee are already so much closer than last year which only bodes for a successful year for everyone, not just on the pitch, but on socials too!

I really look forward to seeing all of the experienced heads in the club including myself, passing down their knowledge to the younger boys so that men's football can continue to improve its professionalism and become more competitive in BUCS.
